Use the Dubai Police app, the RTA app, or the UAE Ministry of Interior app. Enter your plate number, licence number or traffic file number to see any pending fines. UAE Pass is available for a secure login.
The same information can be retrieved on the Dubai Police or RTA websites by selecting the ‘Traffic Fines’ section and entering the required details. For Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, the police apps provide the same function.
Once the fine appears, tap the ‘Pay’ button in the app. You will be guided to choose a payment method, credit card, debit card or cash at a designated payment centre. The amount will be displayed in AED. The payment link is valid for 30 days after the fine is issued.
After payment, a confirmation screen appears and a receipt is sent to your registered email. Keep the receipt for your records; it can be useful if a dispute arises.

Abu Dhabi Police offer a 35 % discount if the fine is paid within 60 days of the violation. If paid after 60 days but within one year, the discount is 25 %. Severe violations are excluded from these discounts.
Sharjah Police run a fine discount scheme that excludes 40 specific offences. The app shows whether a discount applies to a particular fine.
Dubai’s discount rules are not listed in the 2026 data. Check the Dubai Police app to see if a discount is available for your fine.
Accumulating 24 black points within 12 months leads to licence suspension. Points are added for traffic violations such as speeding, illegal parking and driving without a seatbelt. A suspended licence can be reinstated after a mandatory period and a fine.
Always keep your speed limit signs in mind; the UAE enforces strict speed limits on highways and city roads.
Use a seatbelt, it is compulsory for all passengers.
Avoid parking in restricted zones; check the local parking signs before leaving your car.
Keep your vehicle’s registration, insurance and inspection certificates up to date to prevent administrative fines.
Regular maintenance reduces the risk of technical violations. Use the MotorCar UAE car‑service portal to find trusted garages and get free quotes.
