The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced new petrol and diesel rates for October 2026 on 30 September, effective 1 October. Every fuel grade is higher than in September. If you drive in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah, here is what you will pay this month, what it means for your monthly running costs, and when the next update is due.
Prices took effect on 1 October 2026 and apply at ADNOC, ENOC, EPPCO and other fuel retailers across the country. All four grades rose compared with September. According to Khaleej Times, petrol is above Dh4 per litre for the first time since 2022.

Prices are in AED per litre. For comparison, July 2026 rates were Super 98 AED 3.40, Special 95 AED 3.29, E-Plus 91 AED 3.21 and diesel AED 3.60, so the cumulative change since July is +1.00 for Super 98, +0.99 for Special 95, +1.00 for E-Plus 91 and +1.20 for diesel.
Diesel is the most expensive fuel at AED 4.80, followed by Super 98 at AED 4.40. Special 95, the grade most UAE sedans and SUVs run on, now costs AED 4.28 per litre, which is 52 fils below diesel. The Gulf News report notes that the committee sets prices monthly in line with global energy market trends.
Take a typical mid-size sedan with a 50-litre tank, filled up twice a month, a common pattern for commuters in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
That is an extra AED 59 a month from this one price change. Diesel vehicles filling the same 100 litres now pay AED 480, up AED 50 from September's AED 430.

October's figures are official and effective from 1 October 2026. The UAE Fuel Price Committee is expected to announce the November rates on 31 October 2026, effective 1 November. Based on October's Brent crude average (about $124 a barrel, up 8 to 9 percent on September), MotorCar expects a fourth monthly rise: Special 95 to about AED 4.49 to 4.56, Super 98 to about AED 4.62 to 4.69, E-Plus 91 to about AED 4.42 to 4.48 and diesel to about AED 5.00 to 5.10 per litre. The UAE deregulated fuel prices in 2015 and now adjusts them monthly through the Fuel Price Committee, in line with global energy market trends rather than fixing rates for the year.
Check your fuel cap or owner's manual. Most UAE-spec sedans and SUVs run on Special 95, while some performance and luxury models require Super 98. Using a lower grade than recommended can affect engine performance over time.
Not at the pump. As of October 2026, diesel at AED 4.80 per litre is priced above Super 98 (AED 4.40), Special 95 (AED 4.28) and E-Plus 91 (AED 4.21). Diesel is 52 fils above Special 95. Diesel vehicles can offset part of the difference through fuel efficiency on long highway drives.
